Help us Chart the Course for our Ministries with Children, Family, and Youth!

We have begun the process of charting the future course of UDLC’s family ministries. Our goal is to create a ministry that has well-defined goals, structure, systems, metrics, and a process of assessment to ensure goals are being met. We would like our next Director of Family Ministries to execute our long-range ministry plan that meets our goals and needs, while bringing their own unique gifts to the position. To that end, with funding support from the UDLC Living Waters Endowment, we have hired to help with the renovation of the program. Ministry Architects to help with the renovation of the program.

A Journey of Gratitude, Joy, and Dreams: Our Faith Formation Transition Process

Livvy Steffens shared with us at church on June 5th that she has decided to step down as our Christian Education Director after 40 years of incredible ministry. I remember a story that Livvy tells often about riding her tricycle to the church around the corner and asking her mother, “Who lives there?” Her mom said, “God does.” And Livvy said, “Well, I want to meet him.” So began a life dedicated to caring for God’s people, forming our children and youth in faith, and helping everyone know that they are a precious and beloved child of God.

Faith in the Future with Dr. Lisa Kimball and Rev. Tricia Lyons, Sunday, April 18th at 11AM

We will be joined by two of Pastor Keith’s ministry heroes and favorite people, Dr. Lisa Kimball and The Rev. Dr. Tricia Lyons, who are among the most insightful, generous, and deeply caring leaders in the church today. They are both professors at Virginia Theological (Episcopal) Seminary. A married couple, they marry together the passion for faith formation (Lisa’s area) and evangelism (Tricia’s specialty). We know you will really enjoy this time together. We’ll laugh, learn, dream, and be inspired to live our faith and lead our church into the future.
