Family Ministry

At Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, we focus on being God's dearly beloved children, we celebrate the unique gifts God has given to each of us, and discover how we can use our gifts to share God's love – in our homes, schools, church, community, and world. For more information about our ministries for children, families, and youth, please contact Deborah Jodrey.

Sunday Children’s Church

Offered at both our 8:30am and 10:30am services

What is Children’s Church?

Children’s Church is a new ministry for children which we believe will meet the needs of families, accommodate their busy schedules, and will nurture faith, build relationships, provide opportunities to learn and grow and have fun together!

How Does it Work?

  • Parents will sign in their children at the Children’s Church table in the Church Narthex.

  • Children will attend the first part of worship with their parents.

  • After the Children’s Message, children grades Pre-K-5th will be escorted out of the Sanctuary and will go to the Godly Play room down the education hallway.

  • We will be using Godly Play curriculum which centers the spirituality and agency of our children through story, wonder, and response.

  • Parents, please pick up your children from the Godly Play Room as soon as worship ends (before you grab your coffee) to help our volunteers have time to clean up and get to their next activity.

  • Please note, on Sundays when the kids will be performing music, Baptismal Festivals, and holidays, we will not have Children’s Church to provide opportunities for families to worship all together throughout the year. Click here for the Spring Children’s Church schedule.

Disabilities, Neurodiversities, Special Needs:

We welcome and treasure all students! If your student is neurodiverse, has a disability, needs learning support, or has any other unique and special needs, please contact Deborah Jodrey before bringing your child to class. We will schedule a time to meet, discuss, and plan how we might best have an environment that provides for your child’s safety and wellbeing. We strive to work together to make our Sunday School a safe, loving, and welcome place for all children!

PALS Program

For children who have specific learning and developmental needs, we are blessed to have the PALS ministry where loving adults and older youth are buddies to children who need some extra support. Please contact Deborah Jodrey if you feel your children would benefit from having a PAL in the classroom.
