You Are God’s “Beloved” and “Called by Name”

January 16, 2022

In last week’s reading from Isaiah, we heard God say to us:  “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine” (Is. 43:1); and to Jesus as he rises from the waters of Baptism, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.” (Lk3:22).

“I have called you by name….you are my beloved…”  These words are addressed to each and every one of us by God.  Take time this week to reflect on these words and the one who is speaking to you.  How do you want to respond?

How does it feel to be “called by name” and to be the “beloved of God”?  How will you respond to this loving God?
