What To Expect

Come as You Are

UDLC is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so make yourself at home. Dress is casual and we offer two services, contemporary and traditional. We joke that they are like the story of the three bears. You can visit each one and find the service that feels "just right" for you. You can read about them in more detail here.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the service as they feel comfortable and everyone is always welcome to receive Communion.

  • Our address is 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002 in Upper Dublin Township. We are 1.5 miles from the Ambler SEPTA station and an estimated quarter mile from Rte. 309.

  • Children in K-5th who want to go to Children’s Church during the second half of the church service can sign-in at the table in the lobby area. Sign-in lets the teachers prepare for each child from the time they lead the children from the sanctuary until parent pick-up after the service. Any questions you may have at sign-in will be answered at that time.  Our Children’s Church uses the Godly Play curriculum.

  • Children of all ages are encouraged to take part in the services. During the Children’s Message in the first part of each service, the children are invited up to the altar to interact with the Pastor about the themed lesson for the day.  Some children prefer to remain in the pews, while others are accompanied by their parents to the altar. No sign-in is needed.

After the Children’s Message in both services, Children’s Church teachers lead kids grades K-5th out of the Sanctuary to the Godly Play classroom. Each Sunday morning parents can register their children at the Children’s Church table in the lobby. The sign-in allows teachers to individualize the weekly Bible lesson from a personal hello to story questions, and art projects. Parents pick up their children after the service in the Godly Play classroom in the education hallway. Click here for  the current Children’s Church Schedule. This ministry is focused on the spirituality and imagination of our children through story, wonder, and response.

  • We have two parking lots at the church: a large main lot right in front of the church and a smaller lot on the side. There are handicapped parking spaces in each lot near the entrances.

  • When you enter the church through the main entrance, you’ll be in the lobby area. To the left is the sanctuary and gathering area. You’ll see screens and signs with church program news, a sign-up desk for Children’s Church as well as people greeting each other and having coffee. To the right is the hall to the nursery and education wing. The nursery is staffed by two paid caregivers and is available for infants through preschool from 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Bathrooms are also on the right. Straight ahead are the hallways to the summer outdoor worship service in Roland’s Glen. Signs will help you find your way or just ask one of our members for directions. They’ll be delighted to help and guide you.

  • Adults and children begin worship together at our church. Ushers will give you a bulletin to follow the worship service. You are free to sit anywhere. When you arrive in your pew, you’ll see a visitor welcome card with QR code links to information about our church, ways to get involved, and an online visitor form. You can also stay in touch through our Facebook page.

  • At our 8:30 a.m. contemporary service, our band, For the Spirit, provides a combination of original songs and music by contemporary Christian groups and other artists. At our 10:30 a.m. traditional service, we sing hymns accompanied by organ and our choir. Special musical ensembles, including our kids, play and sing on various Sundays and services throughout the year.

  • If you have a few minutes to spare before worship begins, stop by the coffee bar—we sometimes call this the Son Room—which also has tea, juice and light snacks. If the weather is nice, step outside to the adjacent garden. You are welcome to take your coffee into the sanctuary. Coffee and tea runs all morning.
