Prayers of the Church, December 11, 2016

As we anticipate the fullness of the presence of Christ, we join with the church throughout the world, praying for all who are in need.

A brief silence.

We pray for the church and all messengers of the gospel, for all who call upon the name of the Lord, and for congregations throughout the world. We pray that you Lord will work through us to bring harmony and reconciliation in this trouble times. Lord our God, we are your children, who come before you and stand in your presence. Be with us and be our light in all situations of life, in all hardships and grief and in all our joys. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.

Prayers of the Church, November 13, 2016

With the people of God gathered here and throughout the world, we offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of creation.

Almighty and ever-living God, we give you thanks for the men and women who have served and defended our country and the values of freedom and justice we hold so dear. And we give you thanks for the men and women who are serving now in our military, 1 % of the population of this country. Help us be mindful of the sacrifices they made and make, the hardship endured by their families and friends, so that we never take for granted the privileges they have secured for us. Have mercy O God

Prayers of the Church, November 20, 2016

With the people of God gathered here and throughout the world, we offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of creation.

A brief silence.

1) Almighty and merciful God, only you can defeat the power of sin and make all things new. You sent your son who is Christ the King to walk with each of us. May all in heaven and earth acclaim your glory and never cease to say "May Jesus Christ be Praised". Let us pray.

Have mercy, O God.

Prayers of the Church, November 6, 2016

With the people of God gathered here and throughout the world, we offer our prayers for the church, those in need, and all of creation.

Eternal God, this Sunday we especially think of ones dear to us who have left this earth to enter the kingdom of God. Although we cannot know what this kingdom is like, we all imagine it in our own way – a rest from labors, the end of suffering and sorrow, a divine and eternal fellowship. For all the saints and for your faithful servants, let us pray. Have mercy, O God.

Prayers of the Church, October 30, 2016

Set free by the truth of God’s gracious love, we pray for the Church, the world, and all of God’s good creation.

Ah, Heavenly Father, we pray for your good creation this morning but then we go out and mess it up more, way too often choosing comfort or convenience over good stewardship of the resources we have. Forgive us our neglect and thoughtlessness. Make us mindful and aware that living simply is part of creation care and part of our faith practice. Hear us O God
