Prayers of the Church, June 7, 2015

Trusting the Spirit's power, we pray for the church, the world, and all of God's creation.

A brief silence.

O God, we pray for the church, for pastors and prophets, for ministries of forgiveness, for unity as the body of Christ in the world. We pray for safe travels for Pastor Dyan on her journey in Europe. We affirm this well-deserved time of uninterrupted study and time to simply slow down. Hear our prayer.

Prayers of the Church, May 31, 2015 - 7:45 am Service

Righteous King, let us forge ahead in our lives, embolden by the knowledge and power of “Thy will be done” as we can live freely in your mercy. Yet, in doing so, help us to remember that we live as a testament to your forgiveness and that by your grace alone do we continue to exist. Each day we break our bonds with heaven and earn the wrath of heaven, but by Jesus we are forgiven so that “Your will” is something we can praise and embrace rather than fear. Lord, in your mercy.

On this Holy Trinity Sunday, we give thanks and celebrate the great mystery of our faith, the Father who made us, the Son who saved us, and the Spirit who stayed with
us, who are not 3 gods, but one whole. We may not understand very well, but we give thanks for all your aspects and for the love you show us at all times and in all ways.

Hear us, O God.

Prayers of the Church, May 24, 2015

Trusting the Spirit’s power, we pray for the church, the world, and all of God’s creation.

On this Memorial Day weekend Lord we pray for the many soldiers throughout the decades that have given their lives while protecting this country, our home, their
home. We pray for the many men and women that are serving today, each doing their part to try and bring peace to the world. Lord we especially lift up the men and women that have returned home with life changing injuries, help them and their families move forward and find peace in their lives. Hearus, O God.

Prayers of the Church, April 26, 2015

Because of Jesus’ life, and His death for us, we have all received richer and fuller lives; eternally and immediately. Life in Christ can now be lived on a higher plane because of His overflowing forgiveness, love and guidance. We need not be overwhelmed with guilt for our shortcomings, because Jesus has forgiven us. We need not feel unloved, because Jesus’ death was the ultimate act of His love for us. We need not lack for guidance, because we only have to look at every word spoken by Jesus, for a clear and unambiguous path to live our lives. To the unbeliever, this is all a mystery beyond understanding. But, to a believer the comfort of all that Jesus was, and is, surrounds us like a warm blanket on the coldest night. We thank you in humbleness for all You give us. let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
