Prayers of the Church, May 31, 2015

Trusting the Spirit's power, we pray for the church, the world, and all of God's creation.

On this Holy Trinity Sunday, we give thanks and celebrate the great mystery of our faith, the Father who made us, the Son who saved us, and the Spirit who stayed with
us, who are not 3 gods, but one whole. We may not understand very well, but we give thanks for all your aspects and for the love you show us at all times and in all ways.

Hear us, O God.

Prayers of the Church, May 24, 2015

Trusting the Spirit’s power, we pray for the church, the world, and all of God’s creation.

On this Memorial Day weekend Lord we pray for the many soldiers throughout the decades that have given their lives while protecting this country, our home, their
home. We pray for the many men and women that are serving today, each doing their part to try and bring peace to the world. Lord we especially lift up the men and women that have returned home with life changing injuries, help them and their families move forward and find peace in their lives. Hearus, O God.

Prayers of the Church, April 26, 2015

Because of Jesus’ life, and His death for us, we have all received richer and fuller lives; eternally and immediately. Life in Christ can now be lived on a higher plane because of His overflowing forgiveness, love and guidance. We need not be overwhelmed with guilt for our shortcomings, because Jesus has forgiven us. We need not feel unloved, because Jesus’ death was the ultimate act of His love for us. We need not lack for guidance, because we only have to look at every word spoken by Jesus, for a clear and unambiguous path to live our lives. To the unbeliever, this is all a mystery beyond understanding. But, to a believer the comfort of all that Jesus was, and is, surrounds us like a warm blanket on the coldest night. We thank you in humbleness for all You give us. let us pray. Have mercy, O God.

Prayers of the Church, April 19, 2015

Confident that the resurrection of Christ has defeated sin and death, we offer our prayers for the church, the world, and all people in need.

A brief silence.

Risen Lord, the light of your love shines on, through the faces and words of others as it illuminates the places where you are present and brings hope into our troubled world. When the disciples struggled with the reality of your appearance, you penetrated the darkness of their fear and doubt with your words of peace. You showed them the marks on your hands and feet. Then opened their minds to understand that you had to die to defeat death. Increase our understanding of your resurrection - and your call for each of us. Open our minds and hearts to answer you. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.

Prayers of the Church, Easter Sunday, April 5th

Confident that the resurrection of Christ has defeated sin and death, we offer our prayers for the church, the world, and all people in need.

Heavenly Father, we celebrate the church this Easter morning which does Your will in Your world. Your church feeds the hungry, your church gives shelter to the homeless, your church defends the helpless, your church brings people of different ages together as a family to work and to worship, your church glorifies You. We know, God, that You know, that we know we are not perfect and there is work unfinished. But this Easter morning when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, we celebrate how Jesus lives NOW in the work of the church. Lord in your mercy
