As we anticipate the fullness of the presence of Christ, we join with the church throughout the world, praying for all who are in need.
A brief silence.
We pray for the church and all messengers of the gospel, for all who call upon the name of the Lord, and for congregations throughout the world. We pray that you Lord will work through us to bring harmony and reconciliation in this trouble times. Lord our God, we are your children, who come before you and stand in your presence. Be with us and be our light in all situations of life, in all hardships and grief and in all our joys. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
Creator God, we pray for rain forests and deserts, for wilderness and developed land, and for plants blossoming and dormant. We pray that the splendor and diversity of creation will proclaim the glory of the Lord. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
Lord of all, we pray for our government, for the military and international relief workers, and for those who care for the stranger, widow, and orphan. We pray that you will raise up leaders who work for the protection of all. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
Caring Lord, we pray for the hungry and homeless, for those in captivity, for the fearful and sorrowful, for those living with HIV/AIDS, and for the sick, especially those on our prayer list. Be with all those who call upon you, pleading for help. Keep us all in your care. We pray that those who help others will find strength in you to serve with patience and grace. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
Merciful God, we pray for all who call this community home, for those visiting from near and far, for those preparing for the holiday season, and for those who we raise up now to you silently in our hearts or by spoken word. (Brief Silence) In all our special concerns may each of us experience your comfort and help. We pray that the advent of Christ will make our hearts and minds rejoice. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
Loving God, we pray in thanksgiving for the departed who were faithful to God’s word. We pray that their words and actions will direct us to the one who prepares a way for us in this world and the next. Let us pray. Have mercy, O God.
