Prayers of the Church, June 26, 2016

Let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God’s creation.

Dear Lord, we pray to you today in thanks for the wonder of your creation, and the responsibility on our shoulders for caring for this world that you have entrusted to us. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Dear Lord, we pray to you today in trust that you will bless your servants among us – our pastors, our lay leaders, our vacation bible school teachers and volunteers, our ASP team, our musicians, and all who worship here together – commission each of us for our ministry in daily life. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Dear Lord, we pray to you today in hope, hope that we may have the courage to be healers in the world, bringing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, gentleness, civility and faithfulness into the lives of our families, our communities and our world. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Dear Lord, we pray to you today in gladness, for you have freed us to follow your ways and you have given us the Holy Spirit and your scripture to guide us. You call on us to pass our faith on to the next generation and we take joy in each and every baptism. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Dear Lord, we pray to you today in supplication that you will heal our struggling spirits and our frail bodies, giving strength and comfort to those who are lonely or grieving, those who worry about the distractions of the world that draw our attention away from you, for those who protect and defend us, for those on our prayer list and for all those whom we name now in spoken word or silent thought….. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
