Each August we host families that are experiencing homelessness in our church while they get back on their feet through the Interfaith Housing Alliance. We provide meals, transportation, and a safe, friendly place for families to stay.
We need volunteers from August 8 to August 31 to prepare dinner for the families each evening and overnight chaperones. Dinner volunteers are encouraged to enjoy dinner with the families from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Overnight chaperones report at 8:00 pm, lights out and lock up at 10:30 pm and exit at 7am, mattresses provided and you may bring your dog if on a leash. No experience necessary! Volunteer transportation drivers also needed to take the families at 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in provided van to and from Hope Gardens in Ambler.
