Learning, Sharing, Praying, Playing Our Philosophy We are a ministry of Upper Dublin Lutheran Church. We welcome children of any denomination. We enjoy diversity and look forward to incorporating other traditions in our program. Our Staff Amy Conley, Director (BA-English - Gwynedd-Mercy College, Master of Education - Beaver College) Amy is a certified, experienced teacher of young children. Dedicated to helping each child recognize the special gifts given to him/her Our lead teachers are degreed, caring individuals committed to God and to the students and families of our school. Our Classroom Assistants share those same commitments. Our Programs All areas of growth and learning are integrated into a Christ-centered program which includes language and reading readiness, communication and socialization, fine and gross motor skills, self-reliance, listening and sharing and recognizing oneself and others as children of a loving God. We offer programs for two, three, four and five year old children. Please see each age level for schedules of classes offered. Our Facility Our school is enhanced by our beautiful grounds with ample space for special events and a shaded playground. We have open space for large group activities, a wooded area with paths and a stream for observing nature and a great front lawn area. Inside we have bright and airy classrooms, and full use of all facilities including the church kitchen and Fellowship Hall. Child-created work is always on display not only in the classrooms, but in the halls as well. Classes for Twos Two year old students meet two mornings per week - Monday and Friday, Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Children are nurtured as they are introduced to the concept of being without Mom. A gathering time, free play, project, snack and outside play time fill up the two and one half hours. Cirruculum is centered around early literacy concepts of colors, shapes and word play, though Bible stories and nursery rhymes. Tuition: $110/month Classes for Threes Three year old students have the option of attending two or three days per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, morning or afternoon, or Tuesday and Thursday morning. Three year olds "work" on letter recognition and beginning number skills. Again these challenges are casually introduced through discovery, play, stories, nursery rhymes and literature. Three year olds also receive the Scholastic magazine, "Clifford... the Big Red Dog" on a monthly basis. This publication is a wonderful resource for use in both the classroom and at home. Tuition: two days: $110/month three days: $171/month Classes for Fours Four year old students who will probably attend pre-kindergarten are encouraged to attend our three day per week program. This program is presented Monday, Wednesday and Friday, morning or afternoon. These classes are low pressure with emphasis on beginning consonant sounds, letter recognition review, storytelling, number sets, and review and reinforcement of all skills aquired thus far. Tuition: $171/month Pre-Kindergarten Pre-Kindergarten classes are designed to provide children ages four and five with the classroom experiences needed to allow a successful transition to kindergarten. The cirriculum is similar to that of the four year classes. However, because the teachers have more time with the children the cirriculum is expanded. These children will do more science experiments, more storytelling , etc. They will have greater opportunity to interact with their classmates and therefore practice the social skills that they are learning more frequently. We have developed, with input from parents, three pre-kindergarten opportunities: five half days (9:15-11:45), or two half days and three full days (9:15-2), or five full days (9:15 -2). Classes meeting for a full day will eat lunch together, have a recess period and then resume class time. Tuition: Five half days - $260/month Two half days, three full days - $420/month Five full days - $500/month Enrichment Our enrichment class is offered for any three or four year old, each Monday from 12:30-3. It is designed to compliment the child's regular nursery school class. The teacher has designed a cirriculum that uses science, music, art and drama in very effective ways. Children have their own art show, present dramatizations of nursery rhymes and use science experiments to make a wide range of discoveries. Tuition: $65/month Weekly Specials Classes attend Chapel weekly. This is a fun, relaxed time in our sanctuary with Pastor Douglass and his guitar. It is a wonderful introduction to church. Children also have a music class each week with our Director of Music and a Physical Education period with an experienced phys ed teacher. Lunch Bunch Lunch Bunch is offered each day from 11:45 - 2:30. Cost is $12 per session. Children may attend from 11:45 - 12:30 (Lunch Only) for $4.00. Sign up is weekly, payment at the time of attendance. Special Events Throughout the year we have several special events. Families are invited to attend our Fall Festival in Oct. In December we have a Christmas pageant; Father's Night in February, Grandparents and Special Friends in March, our Spring Fling in April and then Mother's Day Teas in May. We also have Nursery Rhyme Olympics in May! It is really a year full of Special Events! |
