This book of Prayers and Reflections is for all people of God, UDLC members, families and friends. It is a unique collection from individuals and ministry groups. There are personal prayers as well as prayers and songs that are well-known by many. Since it is essential for Christians to pray, this collection was compiled to encourage everyone to pray passionately every day for every reason. It offers support for all people with similar circumstances in their lives. As a part of the Natural Church Development program in its first year at UDLC, the congregation focused on “Passionate Spirituality” resulting in new ways to worship, use God’s gifts and praise the Lord. Prayers and Reflections were collected from members of the congregation. A beautiful, hand-crafted “Ark of the Covenant,” symbolizing God’s promise of salvation, has been used as a vessel to collect prayers and reflections of His love in our lives. The congregation was asked to take time to pray and write a prayer or a description of a situation where God was present in their lives. Church leaders and small group ministries were asked to contribute their prayers as well. For several months, these writings were placed in the Ark of the Covenant during Sunday Services. The Holy Spirit truly guided individuals to share, with love, in the name of Christ. This collection of Prayers and Reflections by our brothers and sisters in Christ may prompt more thoughts and prayers by those who read them. It is our hope that readers may be helped in times of struggle, appreciate blessings more deeply, express joy more completely and be comforted. Prayers and Reflections is offered to glorify God. Pray as you read. Look up a prayer when you are unsure or unable to pray on your own. Find comfort or delight in the prayers of others as they relate to your life’s situations. Then pray as you reflect upon the life God has given you. The Holy Spirit has been at work in this project. We prayerfully affirm that you will be blessed by reading this wonderful collection. We hope you will share it with others so that it may be used to spread God’s blessings far and wide. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
